Oh these boys!  They are growing so fast, but they are oh so much fun!!  We absolutely love the holidays around here ~ I know the blog and Facebook page were a bit quiet, but that was mainly because we were just having far too much time to stop and get to the computer!  But don’t worry, there was time for plenty of pictures 😉

Of course I had to get my boys in on the Fireside Mini sessions for our Holiday card!!  I still can’t believe how perfect our backyard fireplace is as a backdrop for holiday sessions – can’t wait to do many more of these next season!

Now, as any photographer Mama knows, shooting your own kids is often the most challenging assignment you can take on.  But my boys have gotten used to it as they have a bit grown older ~ and I *may* have gathered a few new tricks lately ~ so together we are doing pretty well 😉  I have learned to keep it short and sweet and it works out for all three of us ~ and I get these at the end of it…

Do you have any special tricks when taking photos of your own children?  Do you find it easier or harder to photograph your own vs. others?  I would love to hear about some of your experiences!!

And can you believe how fast they grow?!?  This was their Holiday photo from my studio in Virginia just a year ago…
