I have always been amazed at the female body and its ability to carry a human life for forty weeks. But working with these gorgeous Mamas for their Underwater Maternity Sessions only leaves me even more at awe…
Ana and Jorge were amazing to work with in the water! We met via a mutual friend at the Providence Day School. I love that Charlotte has everything to off of a big city, but the connections and feel of a small town! I love being a Charlotte Family Photographer!
Yay for Including Daddy!
We started early so that Jorge could be involved in the session and still get to his office in SouthPark by mid morning. I love that he was so excited to be a part of our session ~ and how much he loved the water!
He may have been my first client that could hold his breath longer than me under the water. Not saying he quite made it – but there *may* have been a little friendly competition going on while we were shooting his solo photos 😉
Starting so early gave us an opportunity to play with some gorgeous shadows given that so much of my pool was in shade when we started. You may notice a wide range of lighting in this session, as the sun rose from behind the trees we had the big sun coverage that I typically shoot in. But early on we had very deep shade and those photos made for some amazingly dramatic black and white images. I love the range of tones and moods we can find in just a couple hours – all in the same swimming pool – with Underwater Photography!!
Any Day Now…
This sweet couple will be welcoming their precious addition any day now. I am so excited for them and absolutely cannot wait to meet their new little one!!
Update:
Baby Lucas Arrived on November 1st and I had the great honor of meeting him on his Birth Day! Fresh 48 Sessions are just one of the most precious type of sessions I offer as a Charlotte Family Photographer. I am so excited to share photos of this sweet little bundle and his Fresh 48 Session!!
The flow of the fabric was just ethereal in the water!
Ana certainly rocked her White Bikini and High Heels Underwater!! At Seven Months pregnant she was absolutely stunning!
Starting early gave us a unique opportunity to really play with some light and shadows without having to be in the deepest end . The reflections, shimmering light, and flow of the fabric all came together to create beautiful drama and magic…
With a Dad this cool, and this comfortable in front of the camera and underwater ~ we couldn’t pass up the chance to focus on him for a moment too!! And wow! Did he rock it or what!?!
As the sun rose above the trees, we were able to play with some brighter light as well. Jorge is so very excited to welcome this sweet new addition!!
How amazing does Ana look in these Deep Water Images….
This may be how I imagined myself looking pregnant, floating in the water, weightless, serene, balanced, a picture of perfect motherhood ~ but I am quite certain I never pulled it off as well as Ana did!!
Want to hear a secret…
Now, can I share a little secret with you? This is how gorgeous Ana looked halfway through our session…She had been underwater for an hour at this point and this was her third outfit!! Talk about Tropical Perfection!! I don’t usually take any dry land photos during our Underwater Sessions ~ but for Ana, I just couldn’t resist!!
Who wants to see a little Behind the Scenes…
One of the things I get requests for the most on social media is tips on Underwater Editing and Behind the Scenes video and photos of my Underwater Adventures! I have several videos on my YouTube and IGTV Channels, but I also want to start sharing a little peek in my blog posts (now that the new and improved site can handle it 😉
Love love love! Your underwater images always blow me away. Two of my favorite things…. maternity and underwater. You’ve really outdone yourself.
