Sweet Baby Hayes turned ONE!  So of course we had to celebrate!!  I have done many Happy Birthday Cake Smashes ~ but this was my first Donut Smash.  And I have to say, I loved it ~ and so did Hayes!  It was so fun to see his big eyes watching me set out that giant pile of colorful sprinkled donuts.  He was drooling and ready to go!!  And he dove straight in as soon as Mama set him down.  There were donuts everywhere and there was no slowing him down 😉

Of course, we kept the donuts hidden just long enough to grab a few of him in the gorgeous summer light and those adorable blue overalls before the chaos started.  He is just starting to toddle and he loved the freedom of getting to stand next to the bench and stand all on his own!

After he finished destroying his pile of frosted sugar yumminess, we stuck him in a warm tub of water for a fun little splash session.  When my oldest son had his First Birthday session one of our very favorite images came from his splash session after the cake smash ~ so in warm months I always try to do one for my little birthday clients!  We always get fun images ~ and it is such a happy memory for me 🙂

But I think Mom had the most fun at the very end.  Not only did she get some adorable Mama snuggles.  But oh the giggles!!  She started tossing Baby Hayes in the air and it was quite clear that this a game they play often ~ because you can see on that little face that he was ready!!  So fun to capture him flying through the air and back into Mama’s safe arms 🙂

Looking forward to capturing Hayes as he grows!  I can’t wait to see those big blue eyes again…

I think Mama made a fantastic choice with Duck Donuts Charlotte!!  She also was way too sweet and brought extra to leave with my boys ~ you should have seen their faces when they got up the next morning and found a big box of this deliciousness on our kitchen counter!!
