Oh Charleston!!  How can I sum up our Charleston creative weekend in a just few words?!?  Well, I can’t. 

Bring on the Photos!

That’s why we have photographs, right 😉  The minute I drove into town my spidey senses went bizerk!  I was dying to get the car parked and get my camera out!  The whole city is darling.  Color. Texture. Character. History.  Just everywhere you look.  I was literally bouncing in my seat excited.

Should I go?

I had almost convinced myself not to go.  The weather looked like we could get rained out (we didn’t!). My husband would be solo with all three boys for a busy weekend. I just wasn’t sure. 

But oh.  All the doubt washed away so quickly!!  And in the end, I really don’t know if it could have been any more amazing!

I can’t thank Anne of Anja Photography and Tracy of Tracy Joy Photography and The Creative Artist Collection enough for organizing this wonderful event. This Charleston Creative Weekend was exactly what I needed to jumpstart my season!

These two photographers do simply gorgeous work in the Chicago, Illinois area.  They have so much fun working together and they make working with them a blast!  We had eight photographers and two models. 

Oh these Models!!!

And these girls.  Oh my!!  They were nine and fourteen and just amazing.  Smart, kind, thoughtful, full of grace and light ~ and just gorgeous.  During the first couple setups I could hardly photograph them because I just wanted to stand there and watch how gracefully they moved. 

I told Kylissa I was quite sure that no one in my house had ever dreamed such grace existed!  Who knows what she would think if she had to step into my circus of boys  ~ but it sure was fun to step into her world for the afternoon!

What a Weekend in Charleston!

Quite a few photos from the weekend are up on my Insta, but I wanted to share the whole story here.  Another post will be coming soon with all of the beautiful model images – so stay tuned!  But of course I have to share just a few of my images from the evening!  Oh my!  Weren’t these girls amazing!?!

Put Charleston on your Weekend away Bucketlist!

Have you traveled to Charleston?  It should definitely be on your bucket list!!  My first visit was about five years ago with my favorite girls weekend travel buddy, and business partner extraordinaire, Ani, but I am already itching for another trip!

Fav Behind the Scenes Image EVER!

Ok y’all.  This might be my favorite behind the scenes photo.  Ever!  I can’t thank Anne from Anja Photography enough!!  And of course I was rocking all my favorite Strawberry Rev gear – I don’t think I know how to use a camera without her stuff anymore 😉

How perfect is this?!?

I walked around a corner and saw this scene.  How perfect is this?!?  I mean, most of Charleston is pretty much this perfect – but the pink hotel with the white horse drawn carriage??  Come On!  I had to stop for a second and grab this one of the Charleston Landmark Mills House!  And what a treat to see them feature my image last week on their Insta!

The colors and textures everywhere I looked were just amazing!!  Such an inspirational place to be and work!  I couldn’t stop grabbing little shots with my cell phone everywhere I walked!

Charleston has the  *cutest* coffee shops just hidden and waiting to be found while wondering around!! I had heard about the Rise Coffee Bar via Shree Summerlin of Aurora Social Co. on Instagram, and I was so glad I sought it out!  So of course I had to take the chance to show off my new camera strap from FOTOStrap to go along with my camera.  I am ~in love~ with the personalized shoulder pad!  (and you know I was wearing my Nickel and Suede earrings all weekend ~ I pretty much don’t leave the house without a pair on anymore 😉
Of course I couldn’t hit the road without stopping at Clean Juice! A perfect detox after my weekend of indulging!!  It was so fun when they featured my image on their Insta!
