Mom reached out to me to say that her baby girl was about to turn one and her big boy about to turn four ~ and she wanted to celebrate with an Underwater Mommy and Me session! How fun is that?!? We are big on experiences over stuff for birthdays in our house, so I thought this was a fantastic idea!!

First Time!

Baby Girl had not been under the water before, but we decided we would have fun getting images of Big Brother under, and Baby Girl splashing and having fun on the steps. Well, she showed us!!

I worked with her through out the session getting her ready. I would trade off with mom, taking a few photos of Big Brother, then letting them have some fun playing in the water. We can only do a few photos at a time with the younger kids anyway because they do need time to take a little break. All that swimming, jumping and cannonballing wears a tike out!

So while they went off for snacks or play time on the steps, I splashed around and had fun with sweet baby sister. Near the end of the session we decided she was ready to give it a try. She was loving the water and just having a great time!! I think Mom and Brother’s faces say it all. Can you see how excited and shocked they are at how happy their baby girl is under that water?!? They were so surprised she did so well on her FIRST time fully submerged under the water! Oh what a fun morning we had!!

Happy Birthday!!

So a big Happy Birthday to both of these adorable littles. I was so proud of both of them! Can you believe three year old Big Brother not only Cannonballed into the pool – but he braved our big boy slide all by himself! And loved it so much he had to do it again and again?!?

I hope to see you all again next summer ~ I just love watching “my babies” grow up!

Great way to capture the first time swimming for your kids! I can’t remember anything from when I was that age and my parents didn’t take photos of everything so I can’t actually look back on this experience..

What beautiful and fun photos! We love swimming all summer long in my mom’s pool and just this year my little started swimming on his own with the arm floaties. It amazes me how many children have such a fascination with water.

She looks like she had a real blast. It is great that she does not fear the water at such a young age. She will be a fish when she grows up. lol
